FL!P: Creative Strategies for Turning Challenge into Opportunity, and Change into Competitive Advantage

What do the superstars of modern business have in common? An ability to "flip"—to think counterintuitively, then act boldly, with no regard for "business as usual" conventions.

Peter Sheahan is known internationally for inspiring innovative business thinking and creating lasting behavior change. He has worked with some of the world’s leading brands, including Google, News Corp., Harley Davidson and GlaxoSmithKline. He has established himself as a highly successful entrepreneur with his thought leadership practice and as the CEO of ChangeLabs, a global consultancy that builds and delivers large-scale behavioral change projects for clients such as Apple and IBM.

In this dynamic address, Peter reveals how the world's most effective organizations and individuals distinguish themselves from the competition instead of running with the pack. As he explores six major flips, you’ll be inspired to take the intelligent risks required to innovate and drive change.

  • Action Creates Clarity—to move forward you must act in spite of ambiguity.
  • Fast, Good, Cheap: Pick Three, Then Add Something Extra—the new standard in every industry.
  • To develop competitive advantage, you must Absolutely, Positively Sweat the Small Stuff.
  • Satisfy customers' needs for engagement and contact—Business is Personal.
  • To win mass-market success, be courageous—Find it on the Fringe.
  • To Get Control, Give It Up—empower others to create, dream and believe for you.
  • Today's small-world economy calls for a new way of doing business—it calls for Flip.

Peter is the author of six books. His latest, “Making It Happen,” unpacks his insights on the execution of ideas through focused business growth, understanding buying behavior and compelling market positioning.

Peter’s insights into business trends and the changing needs of customers and staff have made him a regular presenter on Fox Business. In 2008, he was a featured expert in a five-part global series on innovation on CNBC. He has delivered more than 2,000 presentations to over 300,000 people in 15 different countries. In September 2012, he was inducted into the National Speakers Association Hall of Fame, receiving the Council of Peers Award for Excellence lifetime achievement award for speaking excellence.

Peter Sheahan will be hosting a book signing immediately following this session.
