For attendees traveling from outside of the United States, the following information will help you plan your trip to Hong Kong, this October.

Travel Visas

All individuals who require a visa to attend IFMA's World Workplace Asia 2014, please apply soon!

Hong Kong regulations allow most foreign travelers to enter without a visa.  However, there are unique requirements for certain countries.  Please find out if you require a visa beforehand.

Letter of Invitation

Any international attendees requiring a letter of invitation may e-mail a request to Member Services at Please allow two to three (2-3) business days to be issued the letter of invitation.

Requests should include:

  • Name of the individual requesting the letter
  • Country or location of the visa interview
  • Name and date of the event the visa is requested for

Please note that all letters of invitation will be emailed to attendees. Letters will not be issued to the embassy or consulate where the interview will take place.


Hong Kong dollars are the main currency used in Hong Kong. Certain shops in tourist locations accept Chinese RMB as well. Currency exchange shops can be easily found at the Hong Kong International Airport upon arrival at Hong Kong or along the main streets.


Temperature in October / November ranges from 16°C to 24°C depending on weather conditions. Winter is relatively dry and windy in Hong Kong.
